accountant .
we are seeking an accountant based in mexico city to support our rapidly growing latin american operations. This role is central to maintaining financial accuracy, improving cash flow, and ensuring a world-class billing experience for our clients.
as a key member of the finance team, you’ll oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, and compliance with mexican tax regulations. You’ll collaborate closely with customer success, finance, and sales to resolve discrepancies, and support spoonity’s continued growth in the region.
required qualifications
* fluent in spanish and english (both written and spoken).
* degree or certification in accounting or bookkeeping.
* proven experience in accounts receivable, collections, and reconciliations.
* strong understanding of mexican tax and accounting regulations (sat/cfdi, vat, isr, withholding tax).
* working knowledge of quickbooks online and excel/google sheets.
* exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management.
* ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing saas environment.
preferred qualifications
* experience working in saas or technology companies.
* familiarity with subscription-based billing and international accounting operations.
* knowledge of canadian accounting practices is an asset.
* experience with stripe or similar payment processing platforms.
* understanding of hubspot or comparable crm systems.

$40,000 mxn/month by contractor

* contractors receive a $1250 usd home office expense budget to buy equipment (laptop, headphones, etc) with an annual top up of $416 usd for additional home office purchases.
the work is done remotely from mexico city and they report to canada.
