The work model for the role is onsite. The role contributes directly to the elsp p&l – sourcing for plastics components and reports to the sourcing team in electrification in monterrey, n.l., méxico. Key internal stakeholders include r&d, product engineering, operations, and quality; external stakeholders are primarily strategic suppliers of plastic components and materials. Responsibilities develop and implement procurement strategies for the plastics category focused on cost, quality, delivery, and supplier reliability. Ensure execution in accordance with company procurement policies and supply base management procedures. Recommend and execute frame agreements with key suppliers. Maintain technical, production capacity and compliance capability of suppliers to meet current and future business needs. Plan and execute procurement activities, cost controls, savings initiatives, and risk mitigation for plastics. Lead rfq processes and e-auctions for plastic components and materials. Negotiate and renew supplier agreements, price lists, and terms and conditions. Identify and onboard new suppliers focused on cost optimization, innovation, sustainability, and local sourcing. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to influence design-to-cost and material selection from a sourcing perspective. Qualifications deep knowledge of plastics procurement, including experience with injection molding, extrusion, resin sourcing, plastic part costing, and tooling negotiations. 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply‑chain, preferably managing plastics or polymer‑based categories in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong experience managing rfqs, supplier negotiations, and contracts for direct materials. Familiarity with supplier sustainability assessments (e.g., ecovadis), cost‑reduction projects, and supplier development initiatives. Ability to analyze cost breakdowns, manage supplier performance, and identify productivity opportunities across the category. Experience working with sap, ariba, ecovadis, sfdb, and microsoft office tools. Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‑relationship‑management skills; strategic thinking with a hands‑on approach to execution. Advanced english level (spoken and written).
