Opportunity summary:
as a controller at w.w. Williams, you will direct the accounting and financial activities of the w.w. Williams company, llc, and any subsidiaries thereof. Controller is responsible for internal, member, and eternal (audit) record-keeping, tracking and reporting, as well as coordination with auditors and members regarding financial and accounting activities relating to the company.
job duties
* assumes the responsibility for all financial transactions of the organization, supervision of an international accounting staff, and interactions with operational and senior management of the organization.
* ensures that the books and financial records of the organization are prepared in a timely manner, are accurately stated, and comply with gaap and audit requirements.
* overseas and implements all internal control procedures and processes necessary to safeguard the assets of the organization.
* recommends implementation or revision of, policies related to internal control, accounting, and treasury management functions for approval by senior management.
* prepares reports which summarize the organizations business activity and financial performance in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
* is intimately knowledgeable about the details that drive financial transactions and reporting.
* assists the operations controller with the preparation of budgets, reviewing budget proposals, and preparing necessary supporting documentation and justification.
* provides management with timely reviews of the organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
* directs, advises, and trains staff in their areas of responsibility including reconciliation of financial statements.
* arranges for and directs audits of the organization's financial records.
* oversees, prepares, and reviews reports required by regulatory agencies.
* establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions related to bank treasury functions.
* delegates authority for receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds.
* oversees the design and implementation of cash management systems as necessary.
* assists in the analysis of financial records to forecast future financial position and budget requirements.
* oversees the credit and collections effort of the organization. Regularly reviews status of those activities.
work experience and qualifications
* possess a cpa or mba and/or other advanced degree.
* 2+ years of supervisory experience.
* strong written and verbal communication skills.
* experience with accounting/ erp software.
* proficient in microsoft office suite.
* proficient in english and spanish (verbal and written)
* experience with mexico laws and regulations.
