About the opportunity our client is seeking a hands-on, strategic global controllerto own and scale the accounting function across multiple international entities. Reporting directly to the cfo, this is a "builder" role designed for a leader who is passionate about creating structure in fast-moving environments and views technology and automation as essential tools for success. In this role, you will be accountable for the integrity of the books, the speed of the close, and the design of scalable finance processes. You will partner closely with u. S. leadership to professionalize the finance function, moving beyond simple reporting to become a strategic enabler of growth. Key responsibilities global accounting leadership: own full-cycle accounting (ap, ar, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany) for multiple foreign entities, with scope expanding to u. S. operations. Ensure accurate financial statements under u. S. Gaap and local standards. Close & consolidation: lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Consolidate results, deliver variance analysis, and drive continuous reduction in close timelines. Process architecture: design and document core finance workflows (record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash) from the ground up. Build internal controls that are practical and scalable, not bureaucratic. Systems & automation: champion the use of ai and automation tools (e.g., ocr invoice capture, automated reconciliations) to reduce manual effort and improve real-time visibility. Oversee erp integrations and data flows. Treasury & compliance: manage intercompany allocations, transfer pricing, and banking relationships. Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with local tax advisors. Strategic partnership: act as a trusted advisor to the cfo and leadership team, identifying cost-saving opportunities and shaping the long-term finance roadmap. Qualifications education & certification: bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; cpa or local equivalent is strongly preferred. Experience:8+ years of progressive controllership experience, specifically within multi-entity or international operations. Technical skills: strong working knowledge of u. S. Gaap (ifrs is a plus). Advanced excel skills and experience implementing or migrating erps and finance automation tools. Language: fully bilingual (english/spanish) with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Mindset: a detail-oriented problem solver who is comfortable operating "in the weeds" (hands-on with reconciliations and ap) while also driving high-level strategy. Leadership: experience managing shared services, bpo/offshore teams, or designing scalable delivery models. What success looks like within the first 12–18 months, you will have transformed the finance function into a strategic asset where: the month-end close is fast, predictable, and automated. Global processes are fully documented with clear kpis. Leadership has real-time visibility into financial performance. A scalable operating model (onshore/offshore) is fully functional.
