Location: Mexico or Costa Rica (Remote)

Type: Full-time

Role Overview

The Cloud Architect will be responsible for architecture consulting, cloud solution guidance, cloud governance, architecture reviews, cloud engineering assistance, and designing Azure cloud solutions aligned with customer's business and technology roadmaps.

Responsibilities

Architecture Consulting

• Work with customer application teams and provide guidance and thought leadership around cloud solutions and cloud governance.
• Perform architecture reviews and provide suggestions.
• Create architecture artifacts.
• Document cloud deployment architecture and all applications.
• Assist application teams with risk assessment processes.
• Assist in cloud service vetting processes.

Cloud Engineering Assistance

• Assist in providing a resolution to complex issues.
• Develop new solutions based on customer needs and perform POCs on new solutions.
• Drive cost optimizations to deliver value to customers.

Operational Skills

• Strong knowledge of JSON templates, Visual Studio, and PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of Linux, Chef, Puppet, and other open-source technologies, especially running in Azure, is a plus.
• Administration and troubleshooting knowledge of Azure Windows servers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Design detailed implementation roadmaps for DR, IaaS, and PaaS environments on Azure.
• Evaluate high-level migration costs and select the right environment and right-size VMs.
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot Azure Platform-as-a-Service resources like Azure SQL, Web Apps, Application Gateway, CDN, and AD authentication.
• Design and plan Azure infrastructure solutions including Azure Virtual Networks, site-to-site VPN options versus ExpressRoute options, migrating virtual machines into the Azure environment, implementing Azure Site Recovery services, and general Infrastructure-as-a-Service management within the Azure environment.
• Ability to understand, document, and analyze the as-is state of the infrastructure landscape.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement to-be solutions leveraging the latest technology trends suitable for customer business and technology roadmaps.
• Ability to develop technology roadmaps for a given customer environment.
• Ability to abstract and articulate solutions with business value.
• Design technical roadmaps for migration to Azure.
• Ability to identify incremental innovation frameworks, solutions, and differentiations on top of industry-standard technology solutions.
• Consult and develop solutions for various types of RFPs.
• Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities and activities simultaneously and multitask effectively.
• Strong knowledge of business and information technology areas.
• Design and implement cloud solutions based on Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, Intune, and Azure solutions.
• Ability to handle the team, drive, and support system reliability, availability, scale, and performance activities.
