we are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
*reputational & sustainability risk manager*
*role purpose*
provide support with respect to:
- day-to-day risk steward responsibilities to identify, mitigate and manage reputational, sustainability, and climate risks, as required.
- alignment with risk management framework and applicable governance.
- sustainability risk ratings (srrs) and the equivalent reviews.
- reputational risk surveillance dashboard point of contact.
- undertake secretariat tasks including preparation of agendas, minutes and arranging meetings for working group/ governance forums lead by the team.
- support for various control ownership responsibilities.
- coordination of information and data to formulate precise responses/presentations to ad hoc internal - e.g., internal audit and external - e.g., regulatory requests.
*main activities*
- advise and escalate, as appropriate on queries from customer relationship and product teams regarding reputational, sustainability and climate risks.
- act as the initial reviewer / delegated risk steward approver, where appropriate, for sustainability risk reviews (srrs) or equivalent.
- advise or escalate environment, social & governance (esg) negative news alerts.
- oversight of reputational risk surveillance dashboard.
- carry out diligence and analysis of thematic or horizon risks and generate summary reports, as required.
- assist with preparation of various submissions to senior management forums.
- update relevant systems and spreadsheets as well as other delegated tasks to fulfill relevant control ownership responsibilities.
- act as secretariat executing tasks including preparation of agendas and minutes as well as arranging meetings for working group/ governance forums lead by the team.
- undertake data analysis and hold the pen for the initial draft responses to various ad hoc internal and external queries received across relevant risk disciplines within the team.
requirements- demonstrated experience or educational background relating to climate change and/or sustainability.
- strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to build rapport and strong relationships across business areas and globally dispersed locations.
- be able to work with various stakeholders to support the team to facilitate risk management responsibilities.
- strong understanding of operational controls and governance frameworks.
- strong organization/planning skills and robust attention to detail.
- ability to remain effective under pressure.
- be comfortable escalating decisions and issues, where appropriate.
- familiarity with financial products and applicable us regulations is useful.
- english and spanish fluency
