the associate accountant will be a key player in facilitating the month end working papers review and compliance for multiple ritchie brothers entities. Working closely with the functional department leaders for ritchie brothers, the associate accountant is a key contributor in the month-end close process reviewing journal entries, working papers and compliance issues.
- responsibilities
- responsible for reviewing journal entries to ensure compliance with global control standards.
- reviews accounts receivable working papers for various entities to ensure compliance with regulatory and global control standards.
- executes sox controls.
- assists the team with day-to-day routine compliance queries from the business.
- provides support to the compliance team, including arranging internal and external meetings and recordkeeping assistance.
- assist in compliance oversight, monitoring, testing, surveillance, and reporting in accordance with government rules and regulations.
- helps identify issues and manage projects resulting from internal and/or external compliance reviews
- participates in committees and work with the business units to resolve issues and oversee the remediation of deficiencies
- analyzes transactions and documents procedures to ensure compliance with accounting principles and university regulations.

- qualifications
- 1-2 years previous accounting experience, compliance a plus knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
- skill in performing detailed numerical computations.
- skill in preparing detailed reports.
- skill in both verbal and written communication.
- skill in the use of computer hardware and software.
