GOSECO International Executive Search® is conducting a confidential search for a key leadership role for a fast-growing leading retailer in Mexico.
I. COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our client is a fast-growing retail company based in Mexico City, specializing in delivering exceptional products and services to customers across Mexico. With a dynamic and customer-focused approach, the company is poised for significant expansion.
We are seeking a strategic and visionary CFO to shape the financial future of the fastest-growing retail chain in Mexico, driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and expansion.
II. POSITION SCOPE
The CFO will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, responsible for leading the company’s financial strategy, capital structure, and operational scalability.
Beyond financial stewardship, this executive will play a central role in funding, enabling, and accelerating the company’s aggressive expansion strategy through world-class financial management, data-driven insights, and leadership of a high-performing finance team.
III. PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Growth
• Develop and execute the financial strategy to scale to 5,000 stores in the coming years.
• Secure financing through debt, equity, and private capital markets to support multi-billion-peso investments.
• Build robust financial models to support the expansion.
Financial Management & Control
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across all business units.
• Implement advanced profitability and ROI models per store, region, and format.
• Ensure treasury management, working capital optimization, and cost control in a high-volume, low-margin retail environment.
• Guarantee compliance with regulatory, fiscal, and audit requirements in all markets of operation.
Technology & Operational Efficiency
• Leverage Oracle Cloud and other financial platforms to provide real-time reporting and decision-making tools.
• Drive automation, digital transformation, and analytics to scale operations efficiently.
• Lead cost-optimization initiatives that directly impact EBITDA and operational margins.
Leadership & Culture
• Build, mentor, and lead a world-class finance team across FP&A, treasury, accounting, and investor relations.
• Be the financial voice at the Executive Committee, ensuring strategic decisions are sustainable and profitable.
• Partner closely with operations, supply chain, technology, and real estate development to align financial and operational goals.
IV. JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering.
• MBA or Master’s degree in Finance highly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership, including at least 5 years in a C-Suite or top financial leadership role within retail, FMCG, or multi-unit expansion businesses.
• Direct, hands-on experience managing all aspects of an Initial Public Offering (IPO) is required.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale growth and expansion, ideally in multi-store retail environments.
• Strong background in capital raising, investor relations, and negotiations with banks, funds, and private equity.
• Demonstrated success in financial digital transformation (ERP cloud implementation, BI, automation).
• Fully bilingual (Spanish/English)
• International or multinational company experience is a plus.

The successful candidate for the Chief Financial Officer position will be based in Mexico City, Mexico.
