about the role

radian generation is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated business development representative (bdr) to join our team in the renewable energy industry. The bdr will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our business by conducting market research, performing outbound calling, and working closely with sales representatives to identify and develop new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the renewable energy industry and a passion for helping customers. The candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team within a fast-paced environment.

role and responsibilities

1. market research: conduct thorough research to identify potential clients and market opportunities within the renewable energy sector. Analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights.
2. outbound calling: initiate outbound calls to prospective clients to introduce our solutions. Develop and execute outreach strategies to generate new business leads.
3. lead qualification: assess and qualify potential leads based on needs, budget, and decision-making processes to determine suitability for our offerings.
4. collaboration with sales reps: work closely with sales representatives to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads. Provide necessary information and context for successful conversions.
5. crm management: maintain accurate records of prospecting and lead activities in salesforce. Regularly update and manage the pipeline to ensure data integrity.
6. reporting: report on key metrics such as lead generation, conversion rates, and pipeline status. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

required qualifications & education

* experience: 1-3 years in business development, sales, or related roles within renewable energy.
* education: post-secondary degree.
* communication skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex concepts effectively.
* research skills: strong analytical skills to gather and interpret market data.
* self-motivated: proactive, results-oriented, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
* technical proficiency: familiarity with crm software (e.g., salesforce) and microsoft office suite.

* industry knowledge: understanding of renewable energy trends, technologies, and market dynamics.
* passion for clean energy: demonstrated enthusiasm for renewable energy and the clean energy transition.
