Manufacturing process engineer main responsibilities are development, implementation and the maintenance of the processes and tooling, in a robust and reliable way, through standards and based on the product value stream mapping, in order to meet the safety, quality, productivity, ergonomics and environmental requirements related to new projects, engineering changes and continuous improvement system.
your responsibilities
1. follow up on activities related to the coldforming/metal forming area in general (day to day). Identify process variations and look for solutions that allow compliance with what is specified to obtain good results from the hose assembly/cutting process.
2. management and control of the budget ($) assigned for improvements in the production floor.
3. follow up on specific activities for new product launches / engineering changes.
4. development and definition of the coldforming/metal forming process for new products or engineering changes that occur during the life of the product. Ensure that the defined process is documented and formally published for operators.
5. participate by providing support/process specifications for maintenance that contribute to the correct development of new equipment related to the coldforming area.
6. actively participate in cost reduction projects.
7. generate and maintain instructions for work and set-up sheets updated according to the defined specifications.
8. create / update the process release sheets per machine related to the coldforming area operations.
9. seek continuous improvement through equipment / process innovations that help the organization and facilitate the work of operators, always taking care of employee safety and always maintaining product quality. Seek support from the areas involved such as production, quality, maintenance to jointly develop ideas that provide a benefit to the operation.
10. inform your superiors of any abnormality (risks, hazards) found in your areas related to environmental, safety and health issues (iso14001 / iso45001 / iso50001).
11. know all the associated risks of your work area, daily, routine, non-routine and emergency, as well as report any incident that occurred before leaving the plant.
12. work towards the fulfillment of the internal objectives and goals of the esh and sge system where your scope influences.
13. apply the esh policy and the energy policy established by the company in your measures.
14. ensure the efficient use of energy, avoid waste, and carry out proper waste segregation.
15. use the esh procedure and other applicable procedures when performing activities that require it.
16. follow the guidelines of the quality system, complying with responsibilities and scope of authority in procedures and instructions.
17. meet the requirements of internal and external clients as documented in relevant documents, procedures, instructions, certifications, and specifications.
18. participate in problem-solving methodologies and in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Stop shipment, station, or line if an anomaly, non-conforming, or suspicious product is detected, following procedures, instructions, and criteria.
19. immediately report products or processes that do not meet customer requirements to prevent sending non-conforming products to the customer, and ensure all non-conforming products are identified and contained following escalation procedures (jidoka, reaction plan, contingency plan).
20. apply the quality policy.
your profile
* bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, or manufacturing process engineering.
* experience in the automotive industry.
* analysis and problem solving skills.
* knowledge of core tools.
* experience in new product launches and engineering changes.
* experience in audits (internal / external).
* minimum of 3 years' experience in the automotive sector.
* minimum of 3 years' experience in personnel management.
* desirable: participation in international exchanges to expand knowledge and personnel management skills.
* proficiency in english (advanced level).
* knowledge of coldforming/metal forming processes.
* technical knowledge in focused maintenance.
