Role summary
position: manager, supplier risk management and supply continuity (reports to the associate director, procurement initiatives, baxter's general procurement organization).
responsibilities
* lead the development and implementation of supplier risk mapping processes to identify and assess potential risks within the supply chain, such as supplier capacity constraints, single‑source dependencies, or geopolitical factors.
* collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data and insights on supplier performance, financial stability, geopolitical factors, and other risk indicators.
* work closely with engineering/opex internally and externally with suppliers to build business cases for change, providing financial analysis and risk evaluation outcomes.
* utilize risk assessment tools and methodologies to prioritize suppliers based on risk severity and develop mitigation strategies.
* manage the procurement supply continuity project stream, working closely with the product core team (pct) to prioritize initiatives that ensure uninterrupted supply of critical components and materials.
* develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and oversee project execution to meet objectives and deadlines.
* coordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to address supply chain disruptions and implement risk mitigation measures.
* collaborate with suppliers to identify and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and improve supply chain resilience.
* monitor supplier performance and elevate issues as needed to drive resolution and maintain continuity of supply.
* identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance effectiveness of supply continuity initiatives.
* drive continuous improvement efforts within the team and across the procurement organization to optimize supplier risk management practices.
* stay informed of industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain risk management to incorporate into strategies and processes.
* promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
* 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with a focus on supplier risk management and supply continuity.
* proven track record of successfully leading and managing projects, including project planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
