Nexxia is seeking a finance analyst to play a strategic role in supporting senior leadership and driving financial performance. This position is pivotal in shaping the company's financial strategies and long-term objectives. Under the direction of the fp&a manager and / or chief financial officer, this position assists in financial planning and analysis activities, including post‑sale performance analysis and cross‑functional support to marketing on campaign profitability and roi optimization. This includes support in pricing models, business case scenarios and enhancement and development of existing and future financial planning models and decision tools, monitoring present financial performance against plan objectives and preparation of various management reports and performance summaries. This position requires ability and aptitude involving quantitative financial analysis, finance modeling and budgetary control, with some experience and working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Qualified candidates should possess a high level of motivation, initiative, a willingness to learn, comfort working with agile methodologies and startup cultures leadership potential.
responsibilities
* support in preparation of in‑depth costs and profitability analyses and assistance in development of pricing and break‑even models for new and existing business.
* analyze key business drivers, campaign performance, and financial results, supporting management in the identification of variances, risks, and opportunities.
* assist in the coordination and development of the annual operating and capital budgets and interim forecasts and trend analysis.
* support and work directly with the management team, including marketing and commercial leaders, in the analysis and monitoring of financial forecasts and key performance metrics.
* analyze budget and forecast variables from departments for conformance with conventional procedures, policies and organizational objectives.
* monitor financial trends and budgeted/forecast revenues and expenditures to ensure responsibility and control are maintained.
* analyze actual operating results throughout the year as compared to budget and projected performance.
* support special requests for financial data and analyses and for information on current and proposed projects and programs.
* perform cost‑benefit analysis to assess program tradeoffs.
* examine past and current budgets and forecasts for financial and economic developments that have an affect on the organization’s spending habits, priorities and financial resources.
* other duties as required, including special projects as they arise.
qualifications
* education: bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (finance, accounting, economics, or related discipline).
* experience: 3+ years in finance within public or private industry.
* strong problem‑solving and demonstrated analytical skills that allow for interpretation of budgetary, financial and related management information.
* experience in or knowledge of accounting and accounting principles sufficient to prepare complex and detailed financial and budgetary analyses and to address a variety of operating issues or budgetary problems.
* excellent written and oral communication skills.
* strong organizational skills to work independently and to prioritize a heavy workload under the pressure of competing assignments.
* excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* ability to respond flexibly and positively in all circumstances, and to work calmly under pressure.
* ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, especially with regards to sensitive or confidential personnel or organizational matters.
* excellent computer skills and experience using microsoft excel, power point, and word and must possess ability to use these tools to present data in a clear and concise manner.
* knowledge and/or experience in using database query tools.
