The lean manufacturing, transformation & capex manager is a strategic role responsible for driving site-wide operational excellence, continuous improvement, and capital project execution. The role demands a strong character with the ability to lead change, challenge the status quo, and foster a culture of discipline and innovation. Key responsibilities include leading labor efficiency efforts, automation integration, and industry 4.0 initiatives to optimize performance and align with corporate growth objectives.
responsibilities
* lead lean manufacturing deployment across the plant using tools such as 5s, smed, standard work, kaizen, and visual management.
* drive transformation projects focused on headcount efficiency, automation, and plant digitization.
* own the development and execution of the capex portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy and financial planning.
* actively implement and promote industry 4.0 strategies including smart automation, digital dashboards, and real-time analytics.
* facilitate value stream analysis, waste elimination, and structured problem-solving initiatives.
* serve as a key change agent to foster high performance, urgency, and accountability.
* mentor and coach cross-functional teams to build lean capabilities and sustain improvements.
* lead plant-wide gemba walks, tiered meetings, and kpi governance routines.
* optimize resource utilization and labor models through time studies and process reengineering.
* report regularly on progress to site leadership, including kpis, roi, and project milestones.
qualifications
* 8–10 years of experience in lean manufacturing, operations excellence, or industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment.
* proven track record leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.
* strong understanding of lean tools, six sigma concepts, and project management practices.
* experience managing or participating in capex planning and execution
* lean six sigma certification (black belt)
* experience in a global manufacturing company
* capex program management experience (project justification, tracking, roi)
* bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
* master’s degree or mba is a plus
* lean six sigma certification strongly preferred
