Procurement specialist
the procurement specialist plays a crucial role in executing and supporting the strategic plan of materials management, leading and advising their team to ensure departmental functions and measurables are met.
key responsibilities:
* ensure timely shipment in compliance with customer demand.
* maintain raw material supply in the required quantity and timeframe for production programs, coordinating with planners to close dmrs and dlog.
* meet inventory, regular freight, and premium freight goal kpis.
* monitor master production plan compliance in volume and mix.
* adhere to quality procedures for audit success.
* prepare monthly and quarterly sales forecasts.
* analyze raw material inventory and develop control and reduction plans.
* evaluate production and materials programmers and create development plans.
* track obsolescence and build outs, ensuring satisfactory releases.
* negotiate customer demand and delivery plans.
* attend daily meetings and review critical lists.
* analyze workload balance of plans and masters.
requirements:
* industrial engineering or similar study area.
* 3-5 years of experience as a materials supervisor or 3-5 years as materials superintendent.
* 5-9 years of experience in the automotive industry.
* ability and willingness to travel, work at client sites, and perform tasks that may require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
qualifications:
* knowledge of erp/mrp systems, logistics (transport).
* apics courses or certification.
* awareness of specific customer requirements.
