what you will do
we are seeking a highly skilled and proactive data engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that empower advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives. Your expertise in aws, postgresql, and amazon aurora will be essential in ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for performance.
* design and implement efficient, scalable, and secure data pipelines to support data integration, transformation, and storage across systems.
* work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver high-impact data solutions.
* develop and maintain etl/elt processes to move and transform data from various sources into centralized data platforms.
* optimize data models and database performance, particularly using postgresql and amazon aurora .
* leverage aws cloud services (e.g., s3, lambda, glue, redshift, rds) to build reliable and automated data workflows.
* monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance, quality, and reliability of data systems.
* implement and enforce data governance, security, and best practices across the data infrastructure.
* collaborate with devops and engineering teams to ensure robust deployment processes and version control for data engineering solutions.
requirements and technical skills
* bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
* 6+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development with a focus on data infrastructure.
* strong hands-on experience with aws services, including but not limited to s3, lambda, glue, rds, and aurora.
* deep knowledge of postgresql and amazon aurora, including performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
* proficiency in building and maintaining etl/elt pipelines using tools like apache airflow, aws glue, or similar frameworks.
* strong sql skills and familiarity with data modeling and relational database design.
* familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., terraform, cloudformation) is a plus.
* excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a strong focus on performance and scalability.
* strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* experience working in agile environments and using version control systems such as git.
