ensuring effective financial control policies and procedures are in place across all relevant businesses and functions
delivery of the assurance testing plan and thematic reviews
supporting the cfo in ensuring appropriate governance standards for regulatory and financial reporting are applied
overseeing the establishment of accounting and regulatory policies, internal reporting and other standards
overseeing financial control processes, reporting any breaks / differences and overseeing their remediation
ensuring there is a robust accounting and regulatory due diligence process in place for any new acquisitions or strategic partnerships
providing sme advice and guidance on controls and policies
maintaining hsbc internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
requirements
*requirements & knowledge*
exceptional drive, commitment and focus in risk management and control
proven experience in the management of change delivery (e.g. project management) or change assurance (e.g. internal or external audit)
good knowledge of change frameworks and methodologies
relevant finance and control knowledge, working in a global and/or regional teams
good knowledge of financial reporting risk and sarbanes oxley compliance procedures
good understanding of the finance operating model at group, business and country levels
ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time
strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environment
thorough understanding of hsbc's activities, products, processes and systems
experience of working with operational and resilience risk, internal and external audit
excellent business writing skills
excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
