role overview
we are looking for a business intelligence (bi) engineer to design, develop, and optimize data solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on transforming complex data into actionable insights through robust data modeling, efficient etl/elt pipelines, and impactful dashboards, while working closely with business stakeholders.
key responsibilities
* design and develop scalable bi solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data models
* build, maintain, and optimize etl/elt pipelines to support analytics and reporting needs
* write and optimize complex sql queries for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning
* develop data models (star schema, snowflake, 3nf) aligned with dimensional modeling best practices (kimball methodology)
* partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data products and insights
* define and implement kpis, metrics, and reporting frameworks
* perform data analysis, profiling, and validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency
* develop interactive dashboards using bi tools to support strategic and operational decisions
* ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across reporting layers
* support experimentation initiatives, including a/b testing and performance analysis
required skills & qualifications
core bi & data skills
* strong sql expertise (complex joins, window functions, query optimization)
* hands‑on experience with etl/elt tools (informatica, ssis, aws glue, dbt, airflow)
* solid understanding of data modeling: star schema, snowflake, and 3nf
* experience with dimensional modeling (kimball methodology)
* experience building and managing data pipelines and orchestration workflows
* strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data quality practices
databases & platforms
* relational databases: postgresql, mysql, sql server, oracle
* strong experience with bi tools (tableau preferred, power bi)
* data analysis, profiling, and interpretation skills
* business requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
* kpi definition, metric design, and reporting standardization
* understanding of statistical analysis and experimentation (a/b testing)
* ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions
nice to have
* machine learning fundamentals
* knowledge of knowledge graphs or semantic/ontology-based modeling
* experience with api data integration and api development
* familiarity with devops practices for data (ci/cd, terraform)
* experience with version control (git)
* programming experience (java, c++ or similar)
* experience building multi-source and distributed data pipelines
