overview
the integrated diagnostic solutions (ids) unit is seeking an industrial engineering - trainee to support manufacturing resources and continuous improvement initiatives across one or more manufacturing sections or shifts.
this role supports the excellence bd sr.
engineer in activities related to continuous improvement projects and works to maintain production processes in constant improvement with the objective of reducing costs and facilitating a safer and more efficient work environment.
responsibilities
develop strategies to improve manufacturing and reduce scrap, as well as perform line balancing.
monitor manufacturing procedures and implement changes as required.
install new equipment or technology to improve efficiency.
participate in continuous improvement and 5s of the area.
design, purchase, and install equipment that helps improve efficiency and the overall product flow.
develop concepts and designs to bring innovative solutions to complex problems.
work with external engineering companies preparing the specifications for machinery and equipment purchases.
assist in the analysis of production and product performance, identifying solutions that help achieve cost reduction goals.
complete specific tasks of assigned projects and participate in cross-functional teams to meet objectives within deadlines.
support equipment calibrations by generating required documentation and assist engineers in collecting signatures on documentation.
train personnel in pilot or special validation runs and be available to work on any shift as needed.
perform activities assigned by the supervisor.
knowledge and skills
industrial or manufacturing engineering degree.
experience from internships or manufacturing engineering roles.
statistics and statistical analysis.
autocad lt.
proficiency with windows-based computers; strong communication and writing skills.
ability to be multifunctional with respect to deadlines and initiative.
