We are hiring a procurement and materials planning specialist to analyze fabric requirements and place purchase orders with suppliers in north america. Plans the sequenced production and delivery of fabric. May expedite orders as necessary to meet customer demand, schedule deadline or department priorities. Communicates and updates order status such as changes, cancellations, delivery deadlines and all pertinent information regarding the order.

* communicate and update order status such as changes, cancellations, delivery deadlines and all pertinent information regarding the order
* expedite orders as necessary to meet customer demand, schedule deadline, or department priorities
* act as primary liaison between supplier and steelcase for material purchasing
* provide feedback on data integrity issues and business processes that impact or are impacted by the data delivered
required skills and competencies
* bachelor’s degree in international business, international affairs, industrial engineering, or a related field
* advanced english proficiency is a must
* proficiency in ms excel
* previous experience in a similar role (recent graduate or 1–2 years of experience is a must)
preferred skills and competencies
* sap experience is preferred
* smartsheet knowledge is desired
* strong ability to analyze, conceptualize, and logically organize database information with a high degree of precision and accuracy
* working knowledge of the material purchasing function and overall manufacturing processes
* good analytical, planning, and problem‑solving skills
* demonstrated customer service passion and willingness to go the extra mile
* ability to work well under pressure, meet scheduled deadlines, and make good business decisions
