what you'll do
we're looking for a senior android developer to help scale clara's android experience and shape the future of financial software in latin america. You'll be a technical expert on the mobile engineering – android team, setting best practices, delivering high-impact features, and mentoring fellow developers. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver fast, secure, and delightful mobile experiences.
in this role, you will:
* drive clara's android technical roadmap in collaboration with engineering leadership.
* architect modular, reusable components using kotlin, jetpack compose, and modern android libraries.
* lead development initiatives of new product features while improving app reliability, performance, and maintainability.
* promote and uphold high engineering standards through code reviews and mentorship.
* contribute to hiring and onboarding as we scale the android team.
* advocate for a product-driven, quality-focused mobile engineering culture.
who you are
we're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
must haves
* 7+ years of professional android development experience, including 2+ years in a senior or technical leadership role.
* deep expertise with kotlin, jetpack compose, and android architectural patterns (e.g., mvvm, clean architecture).
* experience with dependency injection frameworks like hilt or dagger.
* familiarity with performance tuning, crash reporting, and ci/cd pipelines.
* working proficiency in english and spanish.
* strong communication skills and a track record of mentoring or coaching engineers.
nice to haves
* experience working in a fintech or other highly regulated industry.
* knowledge of ci/cd, a/b testing frameworks, and analytics integration in android apps.
* interest in leveraging ai tools to automate development workflows.
* basic proficiency in portuguese or interest in learning.
