Logistics director role
you will be responsible for developing a strategic procurement plan and implementing materials purchasing, logistics, and warehousing policies and procedures to create a comprehensive supply chain program.
key responsibilities:
* oversee shipping methods, including air freight, trucking, rail, or marine transport.
* manage brokers and customs to ensure timely delivery to all destinations.
* direct all activities for shipping and receiving functions.
* evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, delivery time, and customer service.
* develop annual budgets and long-term strategic plans, including capital expenditures.
* review inventory levels and pricing strategies to ensure efficient resource use.
* monitor supply chain performance to meet goals.
* lead a team of supply chain specialists in planning and executing supply chain activities.
* continuously improve efficiency in the supply chain process.
* establish procurement policies, procedures, and programs.
* manage bid processes and direct purchases for the organization.
* maintain supply chain inventory and records.
* resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
requirements:
* bachelor's degree in business, finance, or relevant field.
* 10+ years of experience in materials management and purchasing.
* experience in international supply chains and managing teams in different locations.
* strong working knowledge of inventory planning and forecasting techniques.
* excellent ms office skills and analytical capabilities.
