Maintenance Superintendent

As a Maintenance Superintendent, you will lead and oversee the maintenance operations within the facility, ensuring optimal performance of equipment, compliance with safety and reliability standards, and implementation of effective maintenance strategies. You will manage resources, improve processes, and drive operational excellence to support production goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, setting clear goals and expectations aligned with plant objectives.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Manage resources, including manpower, budget, tools, and spare parts inventory, ensuring efficient utilization to support maintenance operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies while driving a culture of safety and accountability.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance metrics, identifying opportunities for reliability improvements and cost savings.
- Lead maintenance‑related capital projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives and maintenance best practices, incorporating tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and TPM to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Actively address equipment issues using structured methodologies (root cause analysis, 5‑Why, FMEA) to identify and resolve recurring problems.
- Ensure the team is prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, unplanned outages, or critical breakdowns to minimize production disruptions.
- Manage relationships with external service providers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of services and parts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in maintenance operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Solid knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and techniques.
- Experience managing maintenance teams in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems and tools, such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance standards.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective bilingual communication skills (Advanced English).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
- Experience with automated equipment, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Proven track record in executing capital projects and equipment upgrades.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for maintenance planning and tracking.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial machinery, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
