We are seeking a highly skilled and leadership-oriented
ap & ar supervisor
to oversee the operations of accounts payable and receivable cycles for fox mexico. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, team productivity, and strict adherence to mexican tax regulations (sat) within a high-volume shared services environment.
the successful candidate will act as the primary point of escalation for complex reconciliations, support the month-end closing process for ap/ar, and ensure seamless coordination between the mexico-based team and us team including ap shared services.
key responsibilities
team leadership & oversight:
supervise the daily activities of ap/ar specialist, ensuring all invoices, payments, billing and collections are processed accurately and within established procedures and timelines.
tax compliance & regulatory authority:
act as the subject matter expert for mexican electronic invoicing (cfdi 4.0). Audit and validate that all transactions meet sat requirements, including payment complements (rep) and withholding taxes.
financial closing & reporting:
support the month-end close process for the ap/ar modules. Review accrual accounting, prepaid expense amortizations, and aging reports to ensure precise financial standing.
strategic reconciliation:
oversee complex vendor/customer reconciliations. Resolve high-priority discrepancies and manage the escalation of outstanding items to maintain healthy cash flow.
process optimization:
contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the ap and ar functions.
stakeholder management:
act as the primary liaison between mexico operations, legal, finance, corporate tax, and ap shared services to ensure local statutory requirements are fully aligned with global corporate standards.
audit & internal control:
maintain "audit-ready" documentation. Ensure internal controls are robust to prevent irregularities, fraud, or non-compliant transactions.
vendor/customer onboarding:
supervise/elaborate the due diligence process for new business partners, ensuring legal and fiscal documentation is verified according to corporate compliance policies.
qualifications
experience:
6–8 years of experience in accounting, ap, and/or ar, with at least
2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role
, ideally within a multinational shared services or global operations environment. Ability to do detail or hands on work when needed is a must.
language:
native/advanced proficiency in
spanish and english
(essential for reporting to us-based leadership).
technical expertise:
advanced knowledge of
local gaap (nif), cfdi and payment complement
is required; strong familiarity with
us gaap and ifrs
is highly valued.
systems:
advanced proficiency in erps such as
workday, coupa, or graphite
is a plus. Advanced excel skills (data pivot, complex formulas).
soft skills:
assertive communication, strong negotiation skills with vendors/customers, and the ability to lead teams under high-pressure closing deadlines.
education:
bachelor's degree in
accounting, finance
or related field.
