About your role
lead the ehs function for multiple manufacturing units in india.
your responsibilities will include:
1. drive ehs policies and standards implementation in manufacturing sites.
2. coordinate and conduct ehs system audits and inspections.
3. implement ehs management systems to meet company standards and certifications.
4. liaise with government officials to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, with proper documentation.
5. coordinate with site managers to implement ehs programs.
6. prepare budgets and control expenses.
7. investigate accidents and incidents.
8. conduct safety audits, identify unsafe conditions, and drive capa towards achieving zero accidents.
9. plan and execute ehs training programs.
10. oversee security activities to reinforce plant security.
11. support ctpat certification processes.
12. conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses, recommending and ensuring corrective actions.
13. promote a strong ehs culture through performance initiatives and employee engagement.
14. evaluate and implement new ehs systems and technologies for continuous improvement.
15. implement ehs work permit systems and train employees to increase awareness.
16. identify hazardous activities and mitigate risks.
17. manage fire hydrant and alarm systems, waste management, and chemical safety, ensuring compliance.
18. drive sustainability initiatives aligned with avery dennison's 2025 and 2030 goals, including reducing carbon emissions.
19. manage ehs mis and kpis, maintain documentation, and report performance to global teams.
20. coordinate plant medical services and ensure ehs portal updates.
21. ensure legal compliance with ehs regulations.
22. support global ehs policy implementation across sites.
qualifications
* degree with minimum 6+ years of relevant experience.
* proficiency in english (advanced required).
* knowledge of iso 14001, ohsas 18001, iso 45001 systems.
* experience as an ehs manager in a manufacturing environment.
* proven leadership and team management skills.
* high ethics, proactive approach, and integrity.
* strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* understanding of ehs statutes and regulations.
* excellent project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
* familiarity with computer systems like google and relevant software.
