about the role
a u.s.-based residential real estate closing firm is hiring a remote bookkeeper to support its accounting manager with day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable, expense categorisation, and reconciliations. You'll work directly with the accounting manager to keep transactions clean, organised, and on schedule so the firm's cpa team can handle higher-level work.
this is a structured role with clear procedures and established systems. You'll own the day-to-day mechanics — entering bills, reconciling accounts, chasing receipts, and keeping records audit-ready — under the direct guidance of a senior accounting lead.
what you'll do
* enter bills into ramp and schedule vendor payments
* reconcile bank and credit card accounts
* categorise expenses and assign transactions to the correct entity, location, or account
* run reports on employee expenses and follow up on missing receipts
* review daily exceptions in the firm's case management platform
* assist with payroll preparation and track benefits deductions
* maintain vendor lists and organise supporting documents including contracts and w-9s
* manage the accounting email inbox
what you'll bring
* 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, including ap and reconciliations
* solid grasp of accounting fundamentals, including the difference between debits and credits and how ap, ar, and reconciliations connect
* sharp attention to detail across high transaction volumes (100+ entries a day)
* comfort with structured systems, sops, and asking questions rather than assuming
* strong professional written english
* experience with netsuite, quickbooks, xero, or a comparable platform
bonus points for
* direct experience with ramp and netsuite
* bilingual in english and spanish
* experience supporting a u.s.-based accounting team remotely
