Role summary:
the hybrid integration platform (hip) specialist role is responsible for leading activities related to middleware planning, design, and development. This role develops and maintains specialist knowledge of middleware concepts, architectures, software, and facilities. They analyze requirements and evaluate potential solutions, installing and commissioning selected products. Hip specialists are responsible for automating manual activities by providing self-service solutions to developers following devops best practices, maintaining all hsbc security standards, and interacting with vendors and the global engineering team. Hip specialists also provide troubleshooting in production support, such as in projects, identifying root causes, and participating proactively.
principal accountabilities:
* proven experience with ibm wmq, primarily on mainframe.
* implementing, maintaining, and supporting ibm messaging architectures, making technical decisions for websphere mq, collaborating with application and infrastructure teams to ensure the health of production and non-production components, and supporting new implementations.
* knowledge of z/os basics (tso, jcl, jes2, cics, and db2).

* security control implementations for wmq.

* tls certificate implementation, configuration, and security.
* basic knowledge of telecom implementations such as network load balancers, firewalls, and dmz.
* administration, availability, and monitoring skills.
* performance tuning expertise.
* knowledge of z/os basics (tso, jcl, jes2, cics, and db2), intermediate linux knowledge, and scripting skills (bash).
