about the role
available locations: mexico city, mx
as a general ledger (gl) accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You’ll assist with a variety of general ledger activities, focusing on driving operational efficiency within the organization.
responsibilities
* support month‑end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries (e.g., accruals, cash activity, payroll).
* conduct or assist with account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting policies.
* collaborate with cross‑functional teams (sales, operations, hr, fp&a) to support accurate financial reporting and ensure key transactions are accounted for.
* identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in corporate accounting activities.
* contribute to special projects as needed, including accounting system upgrades, data validation, and reporting optimization.
* stay informed on relevant accounting standards and compliance issues to ensure adherence to us gaap or other applicable frameworks.
qualifications
* experience working in a fast‑growing environment, preferably in a public company.
* strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to develop, organize, and complete projects.
* good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (us gaap).
* experience with cash accounting, payroll accounting, and accruals.
* strong technical skills, including proficiency in netsuite/oracle cloud, blackline/arcs, alteryx, and excel.
* ability to communicate effectively with various teams.
* cpa/ca preferred.
