As a n npd engineer, you will be the bridge between r&d and operations. You will lead operational readiness and ensure that new products are optimized for high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing. This role is pivotal in developing robust processes, implementing lean manufacturing lines, and driving the successful launch of innovative brady products. Technical qualifications & rfid expertise bachelor's degree in engineering. 5+ years in a similar manufacturing/npd role. Rfid specialist (preferred):knowledge of rfid hardware setup (tags, labels, readers, antennas) and software/middleware. Familiarity with tag types and rfid frequencies is highly valued. Experience with narrow web converting (slitting, winding, flexo/inkjet printing) is a significant plus. Proficiency in autocad, illustrator, minitab (or similar statistical tools), and project management software. Strong background in lean six sigma, iso standards, and formal stage-gate development processes.core competencies strong english communication skills (written & oral). Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize complex tasks under pressure. A proactive problem-solver with the ability to mentor other engineers and lead cross-functional teams. Expert ability to interpret technical drawings and bills of materials (boms).key responsibilities npd leadership:lead manufacturing activities from project planning through production launch; influence designs to ensure dfm (design for manufacturing) optimization. Process development:research, design, and test manufacturing methods and equipment; establish process controls using poke-yoke (mistake-proofing) and lean principles. Operational readiness:coordinate engineering trial runs, develop pfmeas, and create standard work in collaboration with site engineers. Cost & quality:track manufacturing costs throughout the project lifecycle and ensure strict adherence to iso, eh&s, and brady quality systems (fmea, control plans, etc.). Strategic bridge:serve as the primary technical communication link between r&d and manufacturing locations.
