job description
we are seeking an early years teaching assistant to support children with special educational needs (sen) in a liverpool primary school. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and senco to provide tailored support that promotes each child's development, wellbeing, and inclusion.
key responsibilities:
provide one-to-one and small group support for children with sen
assist in the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities
support children's social, emotional, and communication development
help implement individual education plans (ieps) and behaviour strategies
monitor and record progress, contributing to assessments and reviews
promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals
support with personal care and mobility needs where required
person specification:
experience working with children in early years, ideally with sen
understanding of eyfs and child development
patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
strong communication and teamwork skills
relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 teaching assistant, early years, sen training)
knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
