we are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient senior validation engineer ii (documentation and configuration of product) to lead product obsolescence within our systems. This role involves analyzing and modifying part numbers, boms, routers, and related documents within product lifecycle management (plm) and enterprise resource planning (erp) systems. The candidate will ensure the removal of non-manufactured parts and the continued availability of in-use components, focusing on risk mitigation.
key responsibilities:
* create and manage engineering changes such as cos, cps, and mvis within the enterprise plm (adaptiv) and erp systems (jde).
* experience with product lifecycle management (plm) programs.
* knowledge of product configuration, including creation, modification, release, and obsolescence of boms, part numbers, documents, and work instructions.
* collaborate with design engineering, procurement, supply chain, and quality teams to assess impact and define resolution plans for obsolescence issues.
* liaise with manufacturers and distributors to verify part status, last-time buys, and available replacements.
* generate and maintain obsolescence status reports, including affected parts, product impact, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
* document all changes and decisions according to company standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* complete all required training within the specified timeframe.
* follow all safety policies and precautions in the work area.
basic qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in engineering.
* at least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
* hands-on experience with plm systems (e.g., windchill, adaptiv, teamcenter, agile) and erp systems (e.g., sap, oracle).
* strong understanding of component lifecycle, bom structures, and configuration management.
* experience with change management processes (ecr/eco), mvis, and document control.
* intermediate english reading, writing, and conversational skills.
preferred qualifications:
* strong presentation skills for groups and clients.
* knowledge of six sigma, dmaic, and kaizen at an intermediate level.
* intermediate knowledge of statistics.
