Role purpose seeking a strategic and globally minded supplier quality manager to lead supplier quality initiatives across direct materials and contract manufacturing partners. This role will be instrumental in standardizing global quality processes, driving supplier performance, and leading a global team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in supplier quality, global experience, new product introduction experience, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders across regions. Key responsibilities global leadership & strategy lead and develop a global supplier quality team. Define and execute a strategic roadmap for supplier quality. Champion a culture of quality and accountability across the supply base. Supplier quality management oversee qualification, auditing, and monitoring of direct material and contract manufacturing suppliers. Ensure suppliers meet corning’s quality standards, regulatory requirements, and performance expectations. Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures for supplier‑related issues. Process standardization & governance develop, implement, and reinforce standardized global processes for supplier quality management (pqa4cms, coq4cms, supplier qualification, supplier development, kpi management, etc). Integrate quality systems, documentation, and reporting across all regions and supplier types. Collaborate with global team members to ensure process compliance. Performance & risk management establish and track supplier kpis, scorecards, and quality metrics to include quality 2.0. Support global sourcing team with quarterly business reviews for critical suppliers. Point of contact for plant escalation of high‑impact supplier related quality issues. Cross‑functional collaboration partner with global sourcing, engineering (technology, product, process), plant quality, and external manufacturing teams to align supplier quality goals and expectations. Support new product introductions, supplier transitions, and strategic sourcing initiatives. Experiences/education – required bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality management (master’s preferred). 8 years of experience in quality management to include supplier quality management; ideal industries include automotive, aerospace, fiber optics, telecommunications, or advanced manufacturing. Proven success in leading global teams and driving strategic initiatives. Strong statistical and process control knowledge. Experience with lean, six sigma, or other continuous improvement and problem‑solving methodologies. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards, i.e. Iso 9001, iatf 16949, and/or tl9000. Travel required up to 25%. Experiences/education – desired certified green belt or black belt.
