Role description the assistant controller is a full-time role based in monterrey, nle, operating in a hybrid model that combines on-site work with the flexibility to work from home part of the week. This role supports the controller in managing the company's accounting operations, including general ledger oversight, monthly and quarterly closing activities, and preparation of internal financial statements. The assistant controller will assist with consolidations, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. Day-to-day responsibilities also include supporting audits, helping implement and optimize financial systems and processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as fp& a, operations, and revenue teams. The person in this role will contribute to process standardization and automation appropriate for a saa s environment, including revenue recognition, subscription billing, and deferred revenue tracking. Core functions global payroll — just works, deel, contpaqi, bvg/swiss pension, 1099s treasury & cash — bank recs, fx (usd/mxn/chf), ramp/credit card, intercompany wires month-end close — accruals, prepaids, intercompany eliminations, 3–5 day close target multinational compliance — swiss ahv/bvg, mexico sat/cfdi, intercompany loans, audit pbcs systems/automation — qbo multi-entity, power bi, n8n awareness as a preferred plus qualifications strong foundation in accounting and financial reporting, including experience with general ledger management, month-end close, and financial statement preparation. Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g., us gaap or ifrs), internal control frameworks, and audit support practices. Proficiency with erp/accounting systems and advanced use of spreadsheets and financial analysis tools; experience in a saa s or subscription-based business is highly beneficial. Ability to analyze financial data, perform reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; professional certification (e.g., cpa, cma, or local equivalent) or progress toward certification is a plus. Prior experience in an assistant controller, senior accountant, or similar role, preferably within a technology, saa s, or high-growth company. Comfort working in a hybrid setup in monterrey, nle, with the discipline to manage responsibilities both on-site and remotely.
