we are seeking an associate buyer to support the buying team in developing assortment strategies and identifying products that align with customer demand, market trends, and business goals. This person will help drive sales, profitability, and inventory efficiency by analyzing performance, monitoring trends, and making thoughtful buying recommendations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
this is a hybrid role based in los angeles, with in‑office attendance three days per week.
what you’ll do
* analyze sales, inventory, and product performance to support buying decisions
* assist with assortment planning and product selection based on trends and business needs
* partner with cross-functional teams including planning, merchandising, production, development, and marketing
* help manage vendor relationships and support negotiations around product, quantity, and delivery
* monitor product lifecycle performance, including forecasting, reorders, and markdowns
* track best and worst-selling products and use data to guide recommendations
* maintain buying tools, reports, and related documentation
* present ideas, opportunities, and category insights to internal stakeholders
* support promotional execution and other department initiatives as needed
what you’ll need
* bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
* 2+ years of retail buying experience
* strong understanding of trends, consumer preferences, and merchandising
* solid analytical and retail math skills
* strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
* advanced excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
* excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
* professional judgment and the ability to work independently
