The process quality engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining quality documentation, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and working closely with suppliers and oem customers to resolve quality and system issues. This role ensures compliance with international standards and supports manufacturing excellence in automotive metal processes.
* develop, maintain, and institutionalize quality systems aligned with iatf 16949, iso9001, vda 6.5.
* maintain and update control plans, work instructions, and gage instructions.
* train operators and team leaders on quality procedures, alerts, and nonconformance handling.
* interpret and apply gd&t data to ensure product quality.
* lead problem‑solving activities for internal, supplier, and customer quality incidents.
* manage ppap, process flow, control plans, and customer‑specific requirements.
* conduct gage r&r studies and ensure measurement systems are accurate and reliable.
* facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process control, and cost efficiency.
* monitor and improve qms compliance, implement spc, and track quality metrics.
* promote compliance with lpas audits and support corrective action closure.
* bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
* minimum 3 years of experience in automotive quality engineering.
* strong knowledge of metal mechanics and welding processes (spot/mig welding).
* experience with aiag, ppap, iso9001, iatf-16949 standards.
* proficiency in microsoft office, minitab, and erp´s system.
* advanced english (preferred).
* strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
* ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.
* effective communication with oem customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
* organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive in driving improvements.
