* drive design alterations and part derivatives to improve manufacturability, yield, and robustness
* serve as the primary technical interface between global product engineering, operations, and quality
* approve engineering solutions related to fixtures, detection and prevention methods, rework, and validation
* provide technical leadership for root cause analysis and corrective actions on complex production issues
* ensure effective testing and verification strategies are implemented during transfers and sustaining activities
* support sample builds, first article approvals, and transfer validation readiness
* develop team capability in dfm/dfa, process understanding, and industrialization best practices
* manage priorities, resource allocation, and technical risk across multiple programs
scope & authority:
* technical decision-making authority for manufacturing-related design changes within the approved design envelope
* ownership of r&d execution deliverables for line transfer and industrialization
* influence (but not ownership) over operations pfmea and manufacturing process documentation
key interfaces:
* global product r&d and npi teams
