The driscoll's of the americas (dota) nursery finance team is responsible for the finance and accounting business support to these extremely critical areas of the business.this position is a key member of the driscoll's dota nursery finance team. The sr. Financial analyst performs finance duties of a complex nature requiring professional experience and strong financial acumen. Responsible for the management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and support activities for specific farming investments that driscoll's makes, which includes us nursery spend, nursery amortization, deferred plant costs and fees, us crop investments and other us farming investments (i.e. Post nursery long cane storage and non-refundable planting fees).the sr. responsibilities
annual operating plan (aop)
• responsible for the consolidation of us, mexico and peru nursery operating costs, nursery amortization, and deferred plant cost budgets for business unit presentation
• leads development of clean stock, breeding and tissue culture lab operating budgets and forecasts
• assists with consolidation of nursery capital budgets and forecasts
management reporting
• assists with preparation of monthly financial reporting packages to be utilized by operations, regional leadership, business unit leadership and financial leadership
ad hoc analysis
• performs ad hoc analysis as needed, using proven analysis methods, to support business decisions and provide insights to operational management
process & project management
• works independently and in cross-functional teams as required to improve the processes used to complete the responsibilities of the position, provide critical financial data, assess risk, make decisions and meet financial and reporting objectives
• supports and leads in the execution of projects as needed and prioritized by the nursery finance and accounting department
candidate profile
a skilled and detail-oriented financial analyst with a strong background in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting. Possesses excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• bachelor's degree in accounting / finance
• 5+ years' professional work experience in finance
• experience with planning & analysis, management reporting, and forecasting
• microsoft office – advanced
• erp systems – intermediate
• english - required
• spanish – preferred but not required
• detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy and precision
• results-driven and able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards
• self-motivated and proactive, with a continuous learning mindset to stay updated on industry trends and best practices
