Resumen
to provide engineering expertise for assembly processes, methods, manufacturing systems, and technologies that result in highly producible, quality product designs and manufacturing systems that are capable and cost-effective.
responsabilidades
main responsibilities:
1. review and analyze manufacturing methods in sub-assembly and assembly areas. Make recommendations and support implementation of projects for line balance, workstation design, material flow, kanban design, and sequencing.
2. review existing and proposed product designs for ease of manufacture and make recommendations to enhance quality and producibility. Participate in design reviews.
3. participate in 1 or 2 chartered project team activities involving value analysis, design reviews, product development, product transfer and startup, and new product introduction. Use value-engineering techniques to reduce cost and increase customer value.
4. review and analyze manufacturing procedures, make recommendations for design and/or manufacturing methods, and coordinate projects to improve manufacturing costs and quality. Maintain project objectives and financial documentation.
5. participate in product improvements using design for manufacturing (dfm) analysis and ergonomic design. Analyze measurement systems using tools like isoplotting and gage r&r. Conduct statistical tolerance stack-up analysis and monitor process capability using spc. Conduct process capability studies to determine indices.
6. utilize tools and techniques such as predetermined time standards, line balancing, simulation modeling, cost estimation, manpower planning, productivity, kanban, and continuous improvement.
7. coordinate programs based on long-range forecasts, including analysis, justification, and recommendations for facilities, equipment, and manpower requirements.
8. conduct root cause analysis using methods like “is-is not”, “5 whys”, fishbone, cause-effect diagrams, etc.
9. maintain a basic understanding of advanced manufacturing technology and develop knowledge of the financial impact of engineering on the business through training and professional participation.
