the applications development intermediate programmer analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
responsibilities:
* utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including script tools and code analysis.
* consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems.
* apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
* analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, conduct testing and debugging.
* serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
* identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions.
* resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through technical experience and precedents.
* operate with limited supervision and exercise independence of judgment.
* act as sme to senior stakeholders and team members.
* assess risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, safeguarding firm’s reputation, and reporting control issues transparently.
qualifications:
* 2-5 years of relevant experience in the financial service industry.
* intermediate experience in applications development.
* clear and concise communication skills.
* problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
education:
* bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
additional requirements:
* experience in maintenance and support (l3), managing incident solutions, and code development.
* knowledge of databases (ms sql server, oracle), os (windows, linux), programming languages (vb.net, java, angular), application servers, ci/cd, and security tools.
* soft skills including adaptability, problem-solving, orderliness, and service attitude.
* desirable knowledge in automated testing, monitoring tools (splunk, appdynamics), and financial institution it environments.
this position is full-time, with a hybrid schedule, and involves supporting and maintaining applications, troubleshooting incidents, implementing improvements, and supporting high-impact projects in a banking/financial context.
