Under minimal supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering practices and technology principles and/or techniques to resolve technical issues for assigned product family and across multiple products. Ensures results meet or exceed product requirements and meet delivery goals and timelines. Responsible for providing technical support and sharing product knowledge with process engineers, engineering technicians, and lesser experienced engineers. Must be able to support existing products and quickly learn new processes and products. Member of the new product development team, playing a vital role in the pdp process and hpwts (high performance work teams). Comply with environmental health & safety guidelines and regulations.

responsibilities:
* model safety and ethical behavior as per johnson control’s policies, procedures, and leadership expectation model. Guide and share expertise with less experienced engineers and technicians. Monitor activities to ensure tasks are completed.
* develop, design, and implement plans, processes, systems, and procedures using standard engineering principles. Lead smaller projects independently. Adapt or modify test equipment and processes with assistance from engineers.
* monitor performance of production cells, test systems, or operations. Analyze data and recommend improvements for yield, reliability, and efficiency. Support long-term improvement plans and error proofing systems.
* address problems related to product design, testing, assembly, and manufacturing. Provide technical support across departments. Act as liaison between manufacturing and design teams for feedback and corrective actions.
* conduct investigative projects, sometimes leading staff. Complete tasks within budget and time constraints, meeting customer and contractual requirements.
* perform trade-offs considering schedule, cost, resources; recommend alternatives. Provide technical feedback on product design, assembly, testing, and evaluations.
* prepare and review product documentation, specifications, drawings, instructions, and technical literature.
* resolve regulatory variances and update filings.
* translate user requirements into models and perform other assigned duties.
* lead cost-saving projects, including testing, validation, and ensuring component quality and reliability.
* participate in ehs programs, implement security policies, and support risk and environmental management.
* review procedures for compliance with ohsas 18001 & iso 14001. Promote safety and environmental awareness, identify risks, and report potential impacts.
* contribute to safety, health, and environment objectives and targets.
requirements:
* bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* minimum three years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in mechatronics or mechanical fields.
* ability to work collaboratively in a team, leading when necessary, with strong communication skills in english and spanish.
* skills in abstraction, modeling, and system design.
* proficiency in ms office; familiarity with plm windchill (preferred), sap, tqc, dfam, pfmea, and cad software (creo, solidworks).
* knowledge of time study analysis, gd&t.
* fluent in english; additional language skills are a plus.
