reporting to the general manager, the director, material's role involves:
what a typical day looks like:
* expertise in developing and executing global sourcing strategies aligned with gss objectives, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
* proven ability to manage complex, multi-regional supply chains, ensuring material availability, minimizing risk, and optimizing logistics.
* skills in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with global suppliers to drive performance, innovation, and resilience.
* advanced knowledge in demand forecasting, inventory control, and capacity planning to support dynamic production environments.
* strong ability to work across departments (finance, operations, engineering, quality) to align materials strategy with business goals.
* demonstrated success in building high-performing teams, mentoring leaders, and driving engagement in multicultural environments.
* ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold global standards and policies.
* experience in industry global services & solutions (gss), desirable.
the experience we're looking to add to our team:
* advanced english proficiency.
* bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
* experience in materials management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* strong leadership and team development skills.
* experience working with gss or global commodity management teams.
* proficiency in erp systems (sap, oracle, etc.).
* excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
* ability to work in a global, fast-paced environment.
* apics certified in production and inventory management (cpim) or certified supply chain professional (cscp).
* lean six sigma green belt or black belt certification is highly desirable.
