Role summary regional director, community liaison – hiv, northwest region leads a regional team to develop and maintain relationships with key national and international hiv/aids advocates and advocacy organizations. You will identify advocacy issues and develop multi-disciplinary strategies to address those needs, and manage the cl team and program budget across the northwest region (nocal, nevada, utah, seattle, oregon, and colorado). The role requires travel up to 50%. Responsibilities exhibits leadership of the region and leadership within the organization by setting a standard of excellence. Exercises judgment, integrity, and equitable management practices to guide day-to-day activities of a diverse team. Develops and maintains solid customer relationships with key executives, decision influencers, and decision-makers at major centers, clinics, and other accounts. Tracks and reinforces measures of sales force effectiveness at the regional level to meet corporate sales objectives. Provides counseling and coaching to the sales team to enhance selling skills, product and disease-state knowledge, customer focus, and time-management/resource allocation. Recruits, hires, and manages a team of specialists within the gilead sales organization; collaborates on learning plans and development solutions and provides mentoring and coaching. Serves as the communication liaison between the home office and region to identify and resolve issues, opportunities, and competitive activities with marketing and/or sales management. Clearly defines roles, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes for all activities of the specialist team; regularly measures success and provides feedback on performance. Takes a lead role in representing the company at professional events and promotes company products at such events. Utilizes business acumen to analyze industry trends, resources, and practices; coordinates regional activities accordingly. Leads cross-functional projects with broad organizational impact through strong project management. Ensures strict compliance with gilead’s commercial compliance policy and applicable laws and guidance relating to product promotion and information dissemination. Demonstrates success across all aspects of selling, including technical knowledge, selling techniques, data interpretation, and deep understanding of the medical and pharmaceutical fields. Communicates business direction and vision to the region; explains scientific/technical information in accordance with regulations, policies, and guidelines. Builds strong interpersonal and relationship-building, influencing, and negotiating skills. Guides human resource management issues and navigates complex management scenarios; adept at managing large projects with cross-functional teams and maintaining operational excellence in administrative tasks. Qualifications high school diploma and 16 years of experience associates degree and 14 years of experience bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience master's degree and 10 years of experience ph.d. and 8 years of experience additional requirements ability to travel within the assigned area as reasonably required, including regular travel (approximately 50%). Onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners within the assigned area, if applicable (including vaccinations, drug and background screenings, and related requirements). A valid driver's license is required. Preferred qualifications typical candidates will possess a ba or bs degree, preferably in life sciences or business administration. 14 years of proven commercial experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry (including 2 years of pharmaceutical sales management experience). Proven experience managing a successful product launch and/or product turnaround; recognized as an expert on industry trends and disease state knowledge, including the pros and cons of product protocols (cost vs. efficacy, dosing, duration, etc.). Skills outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills; strong influencing and negotiating abilities. Excellent ability to communicate business direction and to translate scientific/technical information to diverse audiences in compliance with marketing and sales regulations. Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze industry trends and coordinate cross-functional resources. Exceptional project management skills to lead cross-functional projects with broad organizational impact.
