Position summarywarehouse supervisor key roles & responsibilities are to organize the storage and distribution of goods by standardizing all warehouse activities to the seven steps identified in the kps logistics pillar guide. Essentially the warehouse supervisor ensures the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost.supervises and/or performs all activities within the warehouse that involves material's shipments. Assists in the development of warehousing and/or distribution systems, procedures, and equipment lay‑out for the most efficient and accurate processing of company products in accordance with pertinent customer shipping requirements. Coordinates with the shipping clerk to insure all outbound shipments are shipped accurately & timely.essential functionsdrive the warehouse to a world class facility by using the kps as the primary guide to ensure the success of the implementation.manages and develops people in the department by providing short term objectives and long‑term planning which combines the goals of the individuals, department, and business.maintains receiving, warehousing & supplying the production lines by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.complies with kps requirements associated with warehousing, material handling, and receiving requirements and enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.supervises and/or performs all duties related to receiving, shipping and storage of stock (work in process, and finished goods).assures adherence to internal policy & procedure as well as customer shipping procedures and requirements.ensures that all employees within the shipping areas meet the necessary training requirements.investigates shipping/receiving discrepancies/errors affecting customer or supplier satisfaction (this includes sister plants)knowledge of all operations equipment in the warehouse (including, but not limited to forklift trucks, swing reach truck, electric pallet truck, hand trucks, stretch wrap machines, radio frequency equipment, etc.)insures all shipping/receiving employees receive the necessary training to perform their jobs & that they comply with all company policies & regulations.safeguards warehouse and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.achieves financial objectives by adhering to departmental annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededfollow up and control over‑timepromote constant motivation among staff to strive for efficient and effective warehouse administration.support kps activities and procedures with team membersperform all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.management & supervisory responsibilitiesjob is responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).knowledgemust have a strong material management background with key focus on logistics and inventory control.knowledge of six‑sigma tools and processes.
