our client is a global private equity fund with a solid presence in the industrial real estate throughout mexico. The fund has created an exciting new position as a deputy controller. You will have an opportunity to lead a team overseeing day-to-day operations. The role is based in mexico city.
*what the job involves*
- assist in the preparation and review of quarterly, and year-end financial statements under ifrs
- ensure timely reporting of all monthly and annual financial information
- manage the monthly and annual audit reports and documents
- assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process
- track payments against budget and forecasts
- review and analyse existing policies and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
- create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to senior management
- review compliance reporting
- supervise and develop staff (establish performance standards and expectations for staff and review work assignments both in-progress and when completed)
- manage external consultants, service providers, and commercial counterparties, including auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors
*who we are looking for*
- solid experience in accounting management, tax and/or financial reporting. Knowledge of the real estate sector is desirable
- ample knowledge about ifrs, international accounting, mex gaap, and tax
- bachelor’s degree in accounting
- experience building and leading high performing teams
- exceptional interpersonal and team leadership skills
- fluency in english is mandatory
