As a senior turbomachinery controls engineer at baker hughes, you will monitor and support a global fleet of rotating machinery, electrical equipment, and related auxiliaries. Your focus will be on data analysis, troubleshooting, kpi assessment, and serving as the primary technical contact for customers, both remotely and on-site.
responsibilities
* serve as the focal point for regional sites, resolving technical issues and coordinating with customers and internal teams.
* maintain alignment between site and icenters while fulfilling customized evaluations and optimization studies.
* monitor a diverse fleet of aeroderivative and heavy‑duty gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, vsds, electric motors, and gearboxes.
* analyze data and alerts from baker hughes m&d systems to prevent asset failures and optimize performance.
* troubleshoot technical issues on the monitored fleet and communicate findings.
* prepare and review technical documentation such as trip root‑cause analyses, anomaly notifications, and monthly reports.
* conduct periodic technical reviews and maintain operating rhythm with customers.
* navigate and interpret site‑specific control software (markvi/vie, micronet/plus, rx3i/rx7i, allen‑bradley) and engineering documents (p&id, instrument lists, wiring diagrams).
* collaborate with engineering teams, project management, and vendors for root‑cause analysis and issue resolution.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
* at least 5 years of technical experience on rotating machinery.
* knowledge of gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, electric motors, and generators.
* excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
* willingness to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
