specific duties
* develop and manage strategic plans that align with cimmyt's mission and vision, maximizing the policy impact of research across asia, africa, and latin america.
* coordinate with donor relations and fundraising services teams on communications strategies aligned with donor cultivation plans.
* collaborate with the communications team to implement cgiar communications activities when needed.
* provide input into chapter strategy and operational planning.
* stay up-to-date with the latest communication trends and technologies to ensure cimmyt uses effective tools and strategies.
* manage workflows, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
job responsibilities
* ensure consistent brand expression through creative services.
* develop and manage the creation of high-quality content for various channels, including internal communications, executive communications, websites, social media, email, and publications.
* coordinate internal and external communication services from designers, writers, editors, and translation services to deliver high-quality output.
* manage the communications service catalog through cimmyt's ticketing system.
* apply editorial policies and procedures in line with c&o global policies.
* translate cimmyt's mission and projects into compelling storylines with human interest, contributing to cgiar publishing as needed.
* guarantee consistent brand voice across regions and communication channels.
media relations
* assist in developing and updating publishing guidelines for staff and consultants working on content development.
social & digital communications
* coordinate with the external communications manager to implement digital communications strategies.
internal communications
* work with the internal communications manager to implement internal communications strategies to keep staff informed and engaged.
regional communications
* collaborate with regional communications managers to execute communications plans, ensuring consistent brand expression and powerful visuals across all regions where cimmyt has presence.
administration
* manage workflow and plans for the creative hub area, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
* mentor and empower the creative hub team to pursue innovative approaches and set high engagement metrics.
* recruit and onboard new team members as needed.
* promote cimmyt's culture and values within the team.
requirements
* bachelor's or master's degree in communications, marketing, design, journalism, or a related field.
* 4-5 years of experience in communications, with a strong focus on internal communications, media relations management, campaign execution, and social and digital communications.
* strong knowledge of media outlets, journalists, content development, advocacy, writing, editing, and translation.
* leadership experience in managing creative teams or hubs.
* proficiency in digital content management systems, social media platforms, and microsoft office suite.
* experience in nonprofit or international development contexts preferred.
* excellent written and verbal english skills (c1).
* competencies: team leadership, client orientation, critical and creative thinking, teamwork, communication.
