role purpose:
responsible for managing post trade support activities such as intersystem break investigation, trade validations, resolving trade/settlement discrepancies, and trade lifecycle management.
primary responsibilities:
1. provide trade support to equity derivatives & prime finance front office in new york, including trade validations, cash equity/stock loan breaks, intersystem break investigation, review documentation, and settlement discrepancy queries from offshore teams.
2. interact with front office trading and sales, operations teams, product control, and external counterparties to resolve trade discrepancies and escalation issues.
3. compile daily and monthly reports for management.
4. deliver high-priority client service to meet client and internal expectations, impacting the customer’s perception of hsbc.
5. ensure global connectivity and communication with global counterparts to maintain consistency and alignment with target operating models within the middle office.
6. identify potential financial risks to the bank and ensure proper resolution within guidelines.
7. escalate issues timely when necessary, especially those that may cause financial loss or affect client relationships.
requirements:
* strong understanding of markets operations, with experience in equities products preferred.
* a degree in business or finance is preferred.
* knowledge of sophis is preferred.
* ability to work in a virtual team environment supporting multiple functions and stakeholders.
* hands-on experience with on-shore and off-shore operating models.
* strong awareness of operations risk, control, and exception management.
* excellent communication skills to manage local and international relationships.
* familiarity with related technology.
* 6-8 years of investment banking experience recommended.
