the regulatory intelligence, safety and compliance (risc) team's mission is to protect amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by amazon policies. The product safety policy lead will be responsible for analysis and risk assessment activities necessary to formulate worldwide product safety policies. They will serve as our subject matter expert for complex questions regarding the optimal policies needed to make scalable decisions related to product safety, focusing on otc, cosmetics, food, and food supplements.
key job responsibilities
1. responsible for conducting product safety risk assessments across various product categories.
2. make high-judgment decisions regarding policies related to product safety to meet worldwide regulatory obligations and enhance customer safety.
3. analyze data from multiple sources to identify potential risk indicators supporting policy decisions.
4. coordinate with legal teams to integrate legal and safety analyses in support of key policy decisions.
5. collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate amazon's safety and compliance strategies to stakeholders.
6. regularly communicate with leadership and ensure consistent reporting against commitments.
7. draft and present strategies to improve risk management practices, including industry practice analysis.

basic qualifications
* bachelor's degree or equivalent
* 8+ years of experience in compliance, audit, or risk management
* advanced knowledge of microsoft office products and applications
* experience in developing and implementing standards, policies, and programs
* fluent in english
preferred qualifications
* experience in the testing, inspection, and certification (tic) industry
