The mechanical design engineer position is part of the global process engineering services (gpes) group within the cto organization.
the mechanical design engineer i will be part of an engineering group that is responsible for material cost savings, productivity improvements, and product support to honeywell r&o service centers.
*key responsibilities*
- provide product and technical support to the global r&o workshops by driving material savings initiatives, product/process support activities, and performance improvements.
- support the department's goals for backlog reduction, revenue growth, and material savings, through repair improvements.
- identify workscoping opportunities to improve business performance relating to reuse, repair, replace, and extending maintenance repair limits.
- identify and implement aggressive cost reduction initiatives and identify external business opportunities relating to the repair and overhaul business.
- operate as a team member in continuous improvement, six sigma, and honeywell operating system (hos)*you must have*
- bachelor of science degree in engineering from an accredited university

- dfss certified or can gain certification within 6 months
- basic technical skills in blueprint interpretation and manufacturing processes
- ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, design drawings, and related specifications
- possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as the position demands the ability to represent the site in technical discussions with customers and/or regulatory agencies
- familiarity with the specific honeywell products listed in the site capability list
