the application developer is principally responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancements, and delivery of grids applications to the user base. This role is responsible for implementing new features for enterprise-level applications specifically focused on aon’s reinsurance back-office activities. These activities involve processing of statements, payments, received cash, cash allocation, electronic banking details, exchange rate transactions, general ledger, and revenue reporting processes. In addition to maintaining current applications, this position supports modernization initiatives for applications in this service area.
key responsibilities
* enhancing and maintaining a globally deployed application.
* implementing new features in existing enterprise applications supporting reinsurance back-office processes (statements, payments, cash allocation, banking details, fx transactions, gl, revenue reporting).
* responsible for unit testing and mocking to assure appropriate code coverage.
* actively participating in technical meetings to discuss implementation of new features in existing applications.
* providing technical resolution for complex business scenarios and production issues.
* reviewing and understanding user stories to translate them into technical tasks (and estimate/story point where applicable).
required qualifications
* proven experience in it application development and implementation.
* strong experience with microsoft sql server; strong t‑sql skills (including performance tuning).
* strong c# and vb.net skills (including linq, rest api consumption, asynchronous development).
* experience implementing restful apis.
* experience with entity framework (entity framework core is a plus).
education
* bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related technical field.
