your role on our team
the sr. Sourcing manager manages outsourced products for power tool accessories and outdoor power equipment accessories, reporting to the group manager of procurement. Your role involves developing strong partnerships and aligning sourcing initiatives with business goals.
this role requires prioritizing strategic initiatives, developing sourcing strategies to optimize costs, support new product development, improve quality, and minimize risks, aligning with organizational objectives.
key responsibilities include:
* support npd and early supplier involvement to reduce lead times and costs.
* develop and execute global sourcing strategies for production, npd, and r&d.
* lead supplier contract negotiations for mutually beneficial agreements.
* collaborate with stakeholders to address challenges and provide sourcing expertise.
* use data analysis to improve operational performance.
* establish supplier performance benchmarks and foster long-term partnerships.
* develop commodity strategies to reduce total cost of ownership and improve customer service.
* contribute to strategic direction through project management and change initiatives.
* build organizational relationships and influence stakeholders and suppliers.
* analyze make vs. buy decisions for sourcing and process improvements.
* coordinate with departments to ensure supply supports production and business goals.
required tools and skills:
* bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering.
* 8+ years global sourcing experience, including 6+ years in commodity management and strategic sourcing.
* strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic decision-making skills.
* excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
* ability to work independently and influence across organization levels.
* experience with erp systems and data analysis.
preferred tools:
* experience with metals, castings, molding, machining, and commodities is a plus.
